What are the Quiet Areas of the national park and where are they located?
Quiet Areas of the national park are territories with restricted movement of people in order to allow undisturbed development of ecosystems or their components, which are sensitive to excessive human activity and vulnerable to the associated disruptive effects.
There are eight Quiet Areas in the Krkonoše National Park. The two largest are located in the ridge areas of the Krkonoše Mountains, and one on the summit of Světlá and Černá Mountains. The other Quiet Areas are Tetřeví Boudy and Lesní bouda, Pomezní hřeben, Přední Rennerovky, Slatinná stráň, and Lesní hřeben. An overview of issued measures can be found in the Visitor Regulations.
Which facilities are located within the Quiet Areas?
There are six facilities within the Quiet Areas – Vosecká bouda, Labská bouda, Luční bouda, Vrbatova bouda, Výrovka, and Poštovna. In addition, the measures apply to some facilities that are not directly located within a Quiet Area but can only be accessed via certain Quiet Areas. These are Moravská, Novopacká and Dvořákova bouda, Spindler’s Cottage, Petrovka, and the facilities in the Klínové Boudy enclave.
